"I sure love having Spellbinder there in town, and the best way to ensure it stays there is to support them. I'm partial, being a writer, but I always think a good book store is crucial to the personality of a town, and Spellbinder certainly represents Bishop..." -Eric Blehm, author of The Last Season and The Only Thing Worth Dying For
"We have been fortunate to have the opportunity to make a number of appearances for our anthology, but your event in Bishop tops the list. The audience was excellent and what a treat it was for us to read selections about the Sierra Nevada in one of the most beautiful spots in the range." -Gary Noy, Editor-in-Chief, Sierra College Press

If you're not finding a local book or item by using the general search feature on the left-hand side of the page, check here!
We have added this section to highlight favorites about our area, books by local authors, locally-published books, and non-book items that may not be available nationally. Previously, these items have only been available to our in-store customers and we're now pleased to have the ability to offer them online! In many cases, these are some of the most popular books and gifts that we carry, and may even be Spellbinder exclusives ... please email or call us if you have any questions.
Of the many new titles we're stocking this month, we wanted to let you know about these particularly exceptional ones! We'll generally have these available in-store, or you can always order online or just use the web site to reserve a copy for yourself to pick up (place an order and select 'pick up in store' for the shipping option).
September ... time for back to school and settling in after (hopefully!) some fun adventures both near and far over the summer! I'm cheating by updating this a couple of days before the first, and I can feel a change in the air in the evening meaning the end of summer is near. There is quite an array of new books we have in the pipes for September - here's a sampling of what you'll find on our shelves:
A major work combining science and philosophy from, pretty much, the smartest guy on the planet!
For those who loved Pillars of the Earth, here's another foray into historical fiction by Follett ... this is the first volume in his planned Cornish Trilogy.
Walls' acclaimed and beloved somewhat fictionalized account of her grandmother's life, due shortly in paperback!
Fallout is the trilogy-concluding companion to the wildly popular Crank and Glass ... this author made a big splash in Bishop when she visited the high school!
This charming lift-the-flap book shows young readers how even mistakes can be beautiful.
