Manzanar has a long history, but it is most famous for being one of ten War Relocation Camps established during World War II to house Japanese-Americans. Famous internees included Sue Kunitomi Embrey, Toyo Miyatake, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, and Ralph Lazo.
